I'm declaring 2013 'The Year of Me'. For too long I've neglected so many parts of my life and it's time to reclaim them. I think that since becoming a mum I have put everyone else's needs before mine (a familiar tale I'm sure) and whilst I've enjoyed nearly every minute of it, the time has come to put myself first for a bit.

This year I hope to study for the first time in over 13 years. I have loved being a teacher but it's time for something new. I'm hoping that I'll be accepted to study Midwifery. If I'm successful I'll study part-time, balancing home life with study and hopefully, a little bit of relief teaching. It will be challenging, I'm sure, but I can't wait! *

Another big decision I've made is to focus on my health and well-being. I've joined Weight Watchers and am determined to make it work. It's been almost two weeks and I'm down nearly 3 kilos. Fist pump! Go me!

This blog is also on my 2013 to do list. I'm hoping to get the time, some 'me' time, to really get this little space going. That means making myself stop, slow down and reflect, taking the time to record the goings on of our family and whatever else seems worth remembering.

Summer days

I'm trying to fit some daily exercise into our lives. This morning we drove to the beach and took a walk along the foreshore. We ended the outing with a coffee for me and a play in the super cool fountains in the square for X.

I'm joining in with the ever inspiring Jodi over at Che and Fidel for her 52 project. I'm already a week behind, but it's better late than never.

Luella: She moves with such ease now. I think we'll have a walker by her first birthday!

Xavier: "Swing higher, Mummy!". This is boy isn't afraid of heights. A dare-devil.

Watching this sibling relationship develop is just magic.

Reminiscing

 

 

 

 

 

Four years ago (yesterday) I got married. We had a festival themed wedding - outdoors, music, food trucks (mexican, hot dogs, fairy floss and even an icecream truck) and lots of dancing. It was joyful and oh so much fun. The best bit? Walking down the aisle to my beloved. Happy anniversary mi amor.
